Rotary Day of Service
On Saturday, May 18, 2024 more than 800 Rotary clubs and 30,000 Rotarians across 10 states and 7 countries, from Connecticut to Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and New York in the United States, plus the countries of Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom will volunteer in their communities for a Rotary Day of Service.
The Rotary Day of Service is an unprecedented day of giving back to our communities, because “Service Above Self” is at the core of Rotary’s mission. Rotarians use their knowledge of local issues to identify areas of need, and then apply that expertise and diverse perspectives to find a solution. Rotary members will be working in communities worldwide to feed the hungry, tutor disadvantaged children, maintain parks and playgrounds, and much more.
Here in Woonsocket, the Woonsocket Rotary club will perform their Day of Service by having a Collection Drive to be held at the Woonsocket Middle School at Hamlet, 60 Florence Drive from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Woonsocket Rotary is asking that you please donate your clothing, books, eyeglasses, and medical equipment. No motorized scooters or wheelchairs please.
