A new Gallup survey reveals many Americans feel the nation is going in the wrong direction. The majority of respondents only had a positive view on two things: the overall quality of life and the opportunity for a person to get ahead by working hard. There was a six point decline when it came to how satisfied people were about the way income and wealth are distributed in the U.S.       A Democratic senator is calling on Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores. Michael Bennet of Colorado made that plea in a letter to the CEOs of Apple and Google's parent company Alphabet. Bennet is concerned about how the Chinese company behind TikTok collects Americans' data.       California lawmakers are looking to strengthen concealed carry laws after two recent mass shootings. State Senator Anthony Portantino has proposed legislation that would set standards on getting a concealed carry weapon permit, such as a minimum age of 21-years-old. This comes after the deadly shootings in Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay.       Hunter Biden is finally admitting the infamous laptop is his. However, his attorneys want a criminal probe because they claim the information from his laptop was stolen and trafficked. A computer repair shop owner gave the laptop to the FBI in 2019 but not before giving a copy to Rudy Giuliani's lawyer.       [[ watch for updates ]]       Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is speaking out against House Republicans looking to oust her from a key committee. While speaking on the House floor, the Democrat said it's no surprise she's being targeted by the new Republican majority when it comes to her spot on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Her remarks came ahead of a vote to remove her from the panel as punishment for past antisemitic comments.       Morgan Freeman is helping to choose prospective police officers in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The actor was in town yesterday to take part in the interview process. Freeman owns property in the city and is part of a seven member panel that helps the police department evaluate recruits.
